Highlighting Prevention, Education and Neurological Technology for Spinal Cord Health
Join us in recognizing World Spine Day, Oct. 16, 2020
NeuroOne Medical Technologies Corporation recognizes World Spine Day as an opportunity to shine a light on the burden of back pain and disability around the world. With health professionals, exercise and rehabilitation experts, public health advocates, schoolchildren and patients all taking part, World Spine Day is celebrated on every continent.
An estimated one billion people worldwide live with back pain—the biggest single cause of disability in the world. Effective pain management and prevention are critical to reduce the impact on individual health and productivity.
NeuroOne’s next-generation electrode technology is designed for motor neuron-related diseases and conditions, such as spinal cord injuries, epilepsy and Parkinson’s disease.
Awareness and Prevention
Back pain can range from a dull, constant ache to a sudden, sharp pain that makes it difficult to move. It can start quickly or develop slowly over time. Back pain tends to impact those who have poor physical fitness and are overweight.
Causes of back pain include lifting heavy objects, sitting in a slumped position for long hours, smoking, disk degeneration, tense muscles and falls. Back pain can also occur with some conditions and diseases, such as scoliosis, arthritis, spinal stenosis, pregnancy and kidney stones—to name a few.
The best way to prevent back pain is to increase exercise, maintain a healthy weight, get enough calcium and vitamin D every day and develop correct posture. When lifting something heavy, be sure to bend your legs and keep your back straight. The shared goal is to promote physical activity, good posture, responsible lifting and healthy working conditions to encourage everyone to be mindful of their spines and stay active.
NeuroOne Medical Technologies corporation is committed to developing a high-definition, minimally invasive platform electrode technology for recording and treatment of neurological disorders such as epilepsy, Parkinson’s Disease and Failed Back Surgery Syndrome.
World Spine Day is a chance to support over 600 official organizations worldwide to help raise awareness about the importance of the spine for overall health and well-being.
